School Initiative/Program FAQs

May I nominate my own school service, initiative, or program?

Yes, though the total number of nominations you submit may not exceed 2.

How many nominations can I make?

No more than 2

Does my service, initiative, or program have to currently exist?

No. The service, initiative, or program can be something that you simply envision and need the funding to get it kicked off or something that currently exists and needs the funding to grow.

Can I nominate an initiative or program that exists somewhere else that I would like to bring to my school?

Yes. If you see something outside of your school that you would like to secure funding for and bring to your students, we fully support that.

May I tell the candidate that I have nominated her or his initiative or program for the prize?

Yes. You may and please encourage them to confirm their interest and eligibility when they receive the invitation email.

Can I make a nomination if I am not school staff or program leadership (ex. a parent)?

No. Nominations must be made by internal school staff or program leadership, with a school email address, but we do encourage you to reach out to them about this opportunity.

May I ask others for recommendations?

Yes, this may even lead to a future partnership between your school and supports that you may not have known about.

Does school building leadership have to participate in the process?

To ensure full transparency and integrity throughout the process, all we require of school leadership is an email confirmation from the building principal that they are aware of this award nomination opportunity.

Can the school building principal, teachers, or other staff submit a nomination?

Yes. Nominations for envisioned or existing services, initiatives, or programs can come from any staff or program leadership with a school email address.

Who will be aware that I have made a nomination/s?

With the exception of yourself, the nominee, school principal, and others you inform, only BeGreat Together staff and other decision makers will be aware of your nomination.
